The first images of former Teen Wolf star Dylan O'Brien's new movie are blowing us away.
O'Brien is starring in the upcoming queer sex worker drama Ponyboi, along with The Haunting of Bly Manor's Victoria Pedretti, River Gallo, and Pose's Indya Moore.
According to the official synopsis, Ponyboi (played by writer/director Gallo) is an intersex runaway. "He works at a laundromat and hustles as a sex worker. But after a mysterious encounter with a man from his dreams, he learns that perhaps he is worthy of leaving his seedy life in New Jersey behind."

The film is based on the 2019 award-winning short of the same name that premiered at Tribeca. Both the short and the feature are co-directed by writer River Gallo. The short was co-directed by Sade Clacken Joseph, and the film will be directed by Esteban Arango.
In the images, we can see the cast and crew working behind the scenes. One photo shows a blood-covered O'Brien and Gallo, another shows Indya Moore with her hair and makeup done in a glam look, a third shows Pedretti sporting a leopard print coat and a fake pregnancy belly.
"It began with my passionate yet complicated relationship with my home state New Jersey," Gallo told Subvrt magazine about the film in 2020.
"New Jersey has always been my biggest muse, in that much of my trauma growing up intersex is rooted there. Most of life I dreamed of running away from New Jersey and all the painful memories I experienced there," he continued. "As I got older and discovered my intersex identity, I began to appreciate and be grateful for what those experiences taught me."
A release date for the movie has not been announced yet.
