Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya are returning to Arrakis in the new trailer for Dune: Part Two.
The new trailer picks up some time after the first movie ended, with Chalamet’s Paul Atreides and Zendaya’s Fremen warrior Chani being a couple.
“Your blood comes from Dukes, then Great Houses. Here we’re equal. What we do, we do for the benefit of all,” she tells Paul.
“I’d very much like to be equal to you,” he replies. “Well maybe I can show you the way,” she says before kissing him.
But the movie isn’t just about their relationship. At the end of the first film, Paul’s father, a powerful Duke, was killed by House Harkonnen, setting an intergalactic war into motion. Now, Paul is on the run and has teamed up with the Fremen, the native people of the desert planet Arrakis as he works to prevent a future that could result in the deaths of millions.
The trailer shows plenty of the epic sci-fi action that we can expect to see in the movie, with vast armies facing off against each other and explosions aplenty.
“I see possible futures all at once, and in so many futures our enemies prevail,” Paul says at one point in the trailer. “But I do see a way. There is a narrow way through.”
What follows is a cool-as-hell scene of some giant Sandworms being ridden by Fremen as they burst out of a sandstorm to attack an invading army.
In addition to Chalamet and Zendaya, Dune: Part Two’s star-studded cast includes Oscar-nominated Elvis actor Austin Butler, Midsommer’s Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, Christopher Walken, and returning cast members Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, and Charlotte Rampling.
Dune: Part Two is directed by Denis Villeneuve and debuts in theaters on March 1, 2024. Watch the trailer below.Latest Stories
