At a time when representation and guidance feel more vital than ever, Empowering Me pairs two prominent LGBTQ+ leaders, one from Human Rights Campaign and one from Ali Forney Center, with two rising changemakers from their respective nonprofits.
“Empowering Me is about connection between generations, identities and the shared mission to uplift LGBTQ+ Gen Z,” said an Out editor. “Through honest conversation and hands-on mentorship, the series explores how one moment of belonging can create a ripple effect of empowerment.”
These aren’t just stories, they’re blueprints. The featured leaders come from organizations making a tangible difference in the lives of queer Gen Z. Their mentees? Bright, driven individuals who they’re already supporting.
Together, their shared journey reflects the strength of collective progress and the importance of investing in the next generation of changemakers, ensuring they have the encouraging and affirming spaces they need to thrive.
When we show up for one another, the impact can cascade far beyond the moment. McDonald’s proudly stands alongside these leaders and organizations, recognizing that creating affirming, inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ Gen Z is a shared responsibility, and is honored to help fund and bolster their ongoing efforts to guide and uplift the next generation.
